It's True...

I've been known to sew on occasion.. my newest sewing venture has become something of an obsession.... Maxi skirts!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, and almost wear them on a daily basis. So loose, comfy and just...perfect. One problem, any time I find one in the stores... TOO much. Seriously, who can afford $50 on a skirt?? Not me. Not now.

The one down side to making your own maxi skirts is that jersey fabric is not that cheap. Unless you find a great deal on it... It typically is $9.99/yd and the nicer, softer ones are $14.99/yd. And you need about 2 yards per skirt, so it can be expensive unless you've got a really great place to get good quality jersey fabric for cheap.... which I happen to have :)

I figure I can put my sewing-a-maxi-skirt knowledge to good use and start selling them for *almost* cheaper than it would be to make your own...

Visit here for prices and such... but for now... here are the jersey fabrics I currently have on stock..

Enjoy!!

I'm so happy that people are reading my blog and leaving comments!! It makes my day!! I had someone ask me yesterday where I got Max's "I Hope they Call me on a Mission" Printable as seen in this picture...

Not quite an update...

I know I've not been the best about blogging lately - but who can blame me. With a newborn baby, a 2 year old, a new home in a new state and a husband in dental school - I don't have much time. And when I do have time .... it's spent with new friends.

But here, let me let you in on some of the joys of motherhood -

Maila.

Lucky me - I caught her sweet smile on camera! Yay!

A Pouf and a Car Seat

I've had a lot of projects that I've wanted to do lately, and some that I have to do.

This pouf (which I love) was a "have-to-do" -----

Adorable, isn't it?? I LOVE it!! If it didn't take 20+ hours to assemble, I would make myself one...maybe.

On my list of "want-to-do" projects, was the car seat. SUPER easy (only took like 3 hours - maybe) and SO adorable!!! I didn't replace the edge color, but I did replace the patterned fabric and the binding around the edge. A quick, simple, and adorable update! So can't wait to put a chubby baby in it!

Before: It wasn't bad...just boyish and dirty - I still like it, just wanted something a little more girly

After: I LOVE it SO much!!! Love the bright clean colors!!

After: Complete with some nice semi-homemade binding

After: Closer view of the pattern. I love it so much!

It's been, and will be, a crazy couple of weeks. But hopefully I'll still get to work on projects!!!

Also, I should probably pack my house.
Ah.
