Don't worry. I'm still doing my P90x!!!!!! Just don't have time to blog about it everyday like I initially wanted too.... don't know why I thought it would be simple with two children.
Anywho ...
I really just wanted to blog to share these beauties with you:
I'm in "decorate my whole house" mode and wanted something to put up in their room. I've been seeing this subway art all over pinterest so I opened up my photoshop and thought I'd give it a go... and I must say... I do like them!!
They'll look SO cute in their room!!!!!!

Max
He is adorable. Despite yesterday when he rolled in Rambo's pee on the kitchen floor and then picked up Maila. Yes, Max is adorable.
And he knows it.
Self confidence is good, right?

Project P90x - Day 6
Kenpo
Today is the kind of day where I am reminded that I am a mother. More specifically, a mother of two. With a husband in Dental School. A husband that has to study all the time (rightfully so), so I'm left at home with my two children. Alone. Like a lot of other mothers out there. A lot of other mothers who also have two children, that have bad days.
Very bad days.
It's only noon and I'm pretty sure this is the worst day since I brought Maila home. Two screaming children, both covered in dog pee thanks to Max and Rambo (don't ask, don't tell) makes for an eventful day - needless to say.
I couldn't complete my workout because my children are my first priority and they were going INSANE. "Mad, I tell you!! Mad!!" It was a 58 min DVD and I made it until there were only 13 minutes left and then I couldn't handle the screaming anymore.
Kenpo was an interesting workout. Unless you really get into it, and I do mean REALLY into it, it's not much of a workout. You could totally do this DVD and not even break a sweat if you weren't trying. It's just a lot of punching and kicking ... but to get the workout to work-you-out you've gotta get full hip action and everything going on!! Pivot your feet, swing your hips, bounce up and down. When you get into it, it's pretty tough. And I wasn't even going as hard as the people on the DVD.
Honestly, not my best workout. I tried really hard but my children were making it difficult. Grr. Hopefully the next time I tackle this DVD I can have more focus for it .. but something is always better than nothing!!

Project P90x - Day 5
Legs & Back, Ab Ripper
Didn't get around to posting yesterday - Hard workout. Not fun at all. Lots of chin up and pull ups and such, and my chin up bar does not fit in ANY doorway in my entire apartment!!! NOT ONE SINGLE DOORWAY! how does that happen?? Do I need to buy some bands that have an attachment that can be put through the top of a door. It's ridiculous. I'd like to be able to at least try to do a pull up.
Fitting in the workout was hard today - I think I've discovered that I need to do it before Max and Maila are too awake.. Otherwise, it's a nightmare. My legs are killing me today too. Too many squats!!
Tomorrow is Kenpo... now exactly sure what that is, but it already sounds painful!

Project P90x - Day 4
First off, let me say THANKS!!
to all the people that have given me a shout-out!! Your encouragement
is so appreciated and needed!!! Plus, it makes me feel like people are
actually reading these and I will look like a total retard if I don't
finish it now! AWESOME!!!!! I always love comments!!
Yoga
I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that this was a good workout. I don't have pictures because with two children and an hour and a half video - yeah. That wasn't going to happen. I had to break up this workout into two seperate parts. And I SUCK. Man, I am not flexible!! I used to be. Back in my high jumping days I could do a back bend and touch the back of my head to my heels. Yeah... can't do that anymore!! Apart from being sore from my other workouts, it really was difficult. I couldn't do all of the poses and some of the ones I could do, I couldn't do for very long. A little disheartening, but I'll get there. Tony says that you're just supposed to do your best. That's what I'm doing.
At least I can't get any worse. I can only go up from here!

Project P90x - Day 3
Shoulders and Arms & Ab Ripper
I feel like death. Still sore from the first two days and finding out that my upper body strength is little to none. Especially when it comes to my abs. Basically, they don't exist. I'm beginning to question whether or not they were ever there.
Today was a little more challenging to fit in P90x time - I typically like to work out in the morning, but this a.m. I was watching my friends two little boys while she had a doc's appointment. and 3 toddler boys ages 1.5 - 3 years doesn't mix well with P90x. It was funny for a second though, watching them trying to do the workouts... oh well. then my neighbor came over, then Kyle came home for a quick lunch from school ... THEN I got to workout.
I will say, as sore as I am, I still feel really good when I finish a workout ... just exhausted still. But it's the good kind of exhaustion - not the "It's 5 a.m. and Maila won't go to bed" exhaustion.

Project P90x - Day 2
Cardio
Exhaustion.
Cardio is Killer. Seriously. Good news is, the workout is only like 45 min. long. I'm not sure I've ever seen a clock move so slow in my life - except perhaps when I was in labor.
Wrist still hurts, but there wasn't a lot of wrist action today so it's fine. I'm thinking I'm going to need to dig out my wrist brace and wear it when I work out... or I'm pretty sure I won't make it through tomorrow's workout - Shoulders, Back and Arms. It already is hurting me.
Exhaustion.
I'm a little sore today. I got up in the middle of the night with Maila to feed her and when I got out of bed "Yowza!!" My legs almost collapsed. All that built up lactic acid is doing a number on me. I guess I didn't stretch with the cool down yesterday as good as I should have. *mental note*
I don't look pretty again at the end of my workout - so that must mean I'm trying. I was sweating like a boss! Doesn't help that I live in the humidity ...
Until tomorrow ... if I make it that far ...

Project P90x - Day 1
Brace yourselves - I'm about to get real personal up in here.
Needless to say - after 2 babies - my body is NOT what it used to be. Bum-mer. After Max I *tried* to do something about it but never really stuck with anything because ... drum roll please - I'm lazy.
(How's that for honest?) I figured I looked ok ... maybe. Hubs said I was still beautiful. But I didn't feel beautiful. And then.... Baby #2. Whew. Body = trashed.
But now I'm actually going to do something about it. Because, while I still may be lazy, I'm tired of looking like this :
Maybe I'm not "fat" (or maybe I am) but I'm not thin. Which is what I would like to be. Actually - I'd just like to be healthy. Thin comes with that. So this is the plan:
p90x
I started it before - but like I said I'm lazy. I don't think I cared enough. But I care now. So we're doing this amigos.
I've even got a reward/punishment system worked out so it's good motivation for me, and I have a buddy to work out with and I have to report daily to Kyle (and now to my blog) to make sure I actually do it. My buddy is Kelly - we're both doing it in the privacy of our own homes and I think it will work. Especially now that I've blogged it and it's out in the universe so I'll feel like a total reject if I don't do it now..
Day 1:
Core
Kicked. My. Trash. 9 weeks after baby #2 - and I am OUT OF SHAPE. Ah. I'm not sore now, but I know that tomorrow I'm going to die.
I read somewhere that if you look pretty when you're done working out, then you didn't do it right. And I feel like I look pretty gross. (as you can see from above picture - my face and arms are all red and splotchy - adorable)
Also - I think there's something wrong with my wrist - hurts to grip anything with my left hand and definitely hurts to put weight on it (like when doing push ups) But I found out today that if I make a fist and do pushups that way (instead of a flat hand) it's way less painful. But I still think I'm going to get it looked at..
I've thought about giving my starting weight on here - but it's a lot of pounds and I'm not sure I'm ready to share that with the universe yet...
Maybe when it's not so many pounds.

Camel Purse
There ARE advantages to sewing.... especially when you are poor.
*enter Hailey*
I REALLY wanted a new purse for the fall - a camel colored, pleather (real leather would be nice) purse. I wanted it to be BIG so I could put all my things for my two babies in it - like these two:
Should I make a tutorial for this bag??

I REALLY wanted a new purse for the fall - a camel colored, pleather (real leather would be nice) purse. I wanted it to be BIG so I could put all my things for my two babies in it - like these two:
Have a bow on it, so it's nice and girly - like these two:
And be wrinkly like this one:
And only cost me:
$10.00
Unfortunately for me, (or maybe fortunately) - a purse like that doesn't exist.
So I came up with a creative solution...
Two yards of Camel Pleather from JoAnn's clearance section - $8.00/yard
+
Two Camel Invisible Zippers - $2.00 each
+
1.5 Yards Blue Floral Lining (already had)
+
4 D Rings (already had)
+
No Pattern
+
14 hours free time (didn't have, but made the time)
=
And I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (did I mention LOVE) it!
And while it might have cost me more than $10.00 - It's exactly what I wanted, the perfect color, size, has the PERFECT storage capacity, doesn't look TOO handmade and will look great with all the beautiful changing leaves around here.
*sigh*
See, there are advantages to being able to sew.

Not quite an update...
I know I've not been the best about blogging lately - but who can blame me. With a newborn baby, a 2 year old, a new home in a new state and a husband in dental school - I don't have much time. And when I do have time .... it's spent with new friends.
But here, let me let you in on some of the joys of motherhood -
Maila.
Lucky me - I caught her sweet smile on camera! Yay!
