Fabric Wall Treatment

I've been a busy girl today!! My in-laws are coming to town on Wednesday and I had a couple last minute projects I wanted to get done before they got here.... I'm not quite finished, I have to do the other side of the fireplace, but I am just so darn excited about it!! I wanted to share!!

I. AM. IN. LOVE.

Tutorial coming soon!! I know you all want to do this too!!

Now if I could only get my landlords to let me paint that brick on the fireplace white....

Lazy Sunday

Maila and I found ourselves alone in the basement today while the boys were napping. I admit, I am not the greatest at using my time wisely when it comes to my children... normally (I'm ashamed to say) I'd come down, plop her in front of a great big pile of toys and I'd get on the computer and do whatever I do.

I brought her down to the basement with me intending to do just that... but she gave me the most gorgeous smile when I sat her down in front of her toys that I just couldn't leave her there. So we played, ate applesauce, held hands, gave slobbery kisses, and giggled together.

My sweet little baby is only little for a little bit. And today I just wanted to gobble her up!! I hope I don't forget any of the little things about her that I already see changing... the massive gap in her front teeth, her chubby thighs or the mullet hair style she is currently rocking. I love her pudgy feet and stubby fingers. But mostly, I love her eyes. Her big, bright blue eyes. Just like her brother, just like her dad.

It was the perfect Sunday afternoon, just me and my girl.

Glitter Name Sign...because everyone needs one!

I love glitter, it's unhealthy and abnormal but there it is. I love it. I try to put it in as many places as I can... but none more than Maila's room. Holy sparkle. That room is going to shine!

I made this little gem to hang over her crib...

What girl doesn't want some sparkle??

Here's what you need:

-Peice of Wood and something to hang it on the wall with
(I had this sign a friend gave me for Max's baby shower, but it doesn't fit anywhere in my decorations anymore...)
-Modge Podge
-Crafty Cardboard Letters (from Joann's or Hobby Lobby)
-Foam Brush
-GLITTER

First thing I did was cover my wood sign with fabric... it was simple, just wrap the fabric around the sign and staple to the back.

BEFORE

AFTER

Next thing I did was the letters...

I did these one side at a time... apply your modge podge, and then cover with glitter. So simple.

Do that for every side of the letters. You may need to put more than one layer of modge podge and glitter on to make sure everything is covered.

After that, lay all your letters out to dry... leave them overnight. (that's the worst part!!)

I laid mine on upside down paper plates...

After everything is dried, attach them to the fabric. I QUICKLY applied hot glue to the back of the letters and then put them on my sign. It was simple, easy, and the hot glue is holding up fabulously!

Enjoy!

ENJOY!!

..now go vacuum up all the glitter that's everywhere...
